It's kind of interesting what scenes surpass natural beauty once they're "cooked" by the photographic process, and which are doomed to be only a shadow of the real thing. I took about 8 different exposures of this scene, hoping to capture the brilliant sunrise and also the detail in the valley in a way that I could merge them into one shot. This image falls far short of what it was like to be there.
