I had an idea of the shot I wanted: blurred city motion, with a single pedestrian frozen as I walked alongside with my long lens (about 8 paces away). This intersection was very busy and had a fresh cluster of people with every light change.

This was one of the first shots of it that I snapped. I didn't realize it at the time, but this woman's brightly patterned coat totally made the image for me. No other garments passed by that caught my eye quite the same way.

This was a 1/20s exposure, I think; 1/30th turned out to freeze things more crisply, but at the expense of some motion. I think I like more blur better than less, in this case.
