This was how I slept on the side of Seneca Rocks in February: no bivy sack, just a tarp over my sleeping bag. This particular spot is one of the few places where one can actually fit easily, without fear of rolling off. (I was still attached to the wall, just loosely.) I think it was cold enough that I needed the cover over my face, I don't remember the details.
