This interesting valley in Arches NP was formed by a salt lake evaporating, leaving behind salt deposits thousands of feet deep. Then it was covered by rock. Long after, rain seeped in through the rock, dissolved the salt, and washed it away. The rock above collapsed, leaving behind the valley which exists today. Geology is nuts!
