Apparently, paper wasp stings hurt like hell, but they are really docile. They lived in our doorway for months and I let them live there because they were so relaxed whenever we would use the door. Eventually, the colony just got too big and I had to remove them... twice. (They came back when I let them out of the jar, and got started rebuilding the nest.)
